FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions
Common Questions
1) What can I use Plowser for?
With Plowser, there’s no need to wait for snow removal services or getting a snowblower to clear your driveway after a snowfall – with Plowser attached to your car/truck you have your own personal snowplow. You can clear your driveway in minutes and get going with your day ASAP.
Plowser is designed for personal residential use – it’s perfect to use on your home or cottage driveway, and can handle snowfalls up to 10” deep.
(If you have more questions related to your vehicle or driveway, see the sections on vehicle and driveway considerations below.)
2) What can’t I use Plowser for?
Plowser is NOT intended for:
-
Commercial use - Plowser is for going up and down driveways, not for "driving around" and plowing.
-
Compacting snowpiles or plowing on grass and other uneven surfaces
-
Ramming hard compacted snow or iced over snow e.g. waiting 4 days to clear the windrow the city plow left at the bottom of your driveway.
-
Any snowfall deeper than 10” would be taller than the plow face
3) What kind of vehicles can I attach my Plowser to? Do I need a pickup truck?
Plowser is designed for all types of vehicles – SUVs, sedans, minivans, hatchbacks. and pickups (see #4). It can even attach to ATV/UTVs and riding mowers.
4) Jeeps and Pickups Listen Up!
If you're driving a Jeep or pickup truck it can be tempting to have some "fun" with Plowser. Especially with Plowser in the front of the vehicle. Plowser is designed for going up and down driveways and plowing long residential lane ways. If you're plowing a very wide driveway keep the steering wheel locked in the same position as you roll down the driveway. Turning your vehicle to guide the snow around the area will cause Plowser to fishtail. That is not good!
Remember, Plowser is very compact, weighing just 62 lb. Trucks are built for driving and turning at regular speeds with snow plows weighing 500-800 lb. Be sure to operate within Plowser's limits – it’s at its strongest when it’s slow and steady!

6) How do I install Plowser?
Plowser installs in under 3 minutes. once you've done a few installs... just 90 seconds! Easy Peasy!
Here is an install on a 1 1/4" hitch receiver. An adapter is used to accommodate the 2" Plowser drop hitch. Oops! He forgot the middle bar!!
6) What’s the best way to use Plowser?
Plowser is designed to clear snow off a driveway while driving forward with the plow in the front of the vehicle or in reverse with the plow in the back, by slowly rolling down the driveway. It is not for taking "a running start" and barreling through snow.
To see how Plowser is best used, check out our quick instructional video below or visit Plowser 101.
7) Can Plowser fit into my trunk?
Of course... after all, Plowser folds in half and weighs only 62 lb. You shouldn’t have an issue finding space for it!
Special considerations for your vehicle
1) Will Plowser work on my pickup truck? My hitch is 19" off the ground. What about my front hitch?
Yes, Plowser will work on a pickup truck front or back hitch. Plowser comes with a reversible 5-position drop hitch. This way, the vehicle hitch height can be raised or lowered to the required plowing height of 15".

Operate within Plowser's limits. Your truck can take it, but Plowser can’t!
2) Will Plowser mount on my car's 1 ¼ inch receiver?
Plowser fits standard 2" hitches. 1¼", 2½" and 3" receivers require an adapter which can be found at local automotive and hardware stores.
3) Can I attach Plowser to my ATV or Heavy Duty Pickup with a 21" hitch height?
Yes! For the ATV check that the hitch is at least 11" above the ground. If it is lower than 11", you will need to attach a commercial drop hitch, which can be found at local automotive and hardware stores, to raise the hitch height. You can then attach Plowser’s 5-position drop hitch to achieve the required plowing height of 15".
The same goes for the pickup. If the hitch height is higher than 19", get a commercial drop hitch to lower the hitch height to 19" or lower.
Here is a Hummer using a regular drop hitch (orange circle) to lower down to 19" and then the Plowser drop hitch (green circle)

4) I don't have a hitch. Can I still use Plowser?
We're afraid not! You’ll need a hitch on your vehicle in order for Plowser to be attached correctly and safely.
Fortunately, hitches are available for most vehicle makes and models. They can be installed by your dealer, mechanic or specialized vendors (such as U-Haul).
Special considerations for your driveway
1) I recently redid my driveway with pavers. Will Plowser damage them?
Nope! Plowser’s lower blades are made from low friction UHMW and are spring-loaded, so they glide smoothly over driveway pavers while plowing, and when encountering obstacles up to 2” high will bend backwards and ride over the bumps.
2) My driveway is on a decline. Will Plowser be able to 'angle up' to clear the snow?
Yes, it will. Plowser is only locked into place horizontally, not vertically. Incline/decline doesn’t matter, Plowser will rise or lower with the driveway's angle.
3) I have a gravel driveway. Is Plowser ok with that?
Absolutely! At only 62 lb, the Plowser blade is not heavy enough to sink into the driveway and move around a large volume of gravel. At most, some loose pebbles may be caught.
Watch Plowser handle a 300 foot gravel driveway with 4" of snow.
